1. Overview

These terms of service ("terms") govern your use of the BiteBye desktop application and the website at bitebye.app. By purchasing, downloading, or using BiteBye, you agree to these terms.

2. Description of Service

BiteBye is a desktop application that uses your webcam and on-device AI to detect nail-biting gestures in real time and alert you. The app runs entirely locally on your computer. No webcam images or video are transmitted, stored, or processed on external servers. The AI model is bundled with the application.

3. License

3.1 License grant

Upon purchase, you receive a perpetual, non-transferable license key that grants you the right to use BiteBye on one (1) device at a time. The license key is bound to the first device on which it is activated.

3.2 Updates

Your license includes all software updates released for the current major version. The app will continue to function indefinitely after any update window, but may not receive new features unless a new license is purchased.

3.3 Device transfer

If you need to transfer your license to a different device, contact us at bitebye.app/support. Additional devices require additional licenses.

3.4 Restrictions

You may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, or share your license key. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application. You may not use the application for any unlawful purpose.

4. Pricing and Payment

BiteBye is sold as a one-time purchase. Prices are listed on bitebye.app and may change at any time. Price changes do not affect existing license holders. All payments are processed securely through LemonSqueezy.

5. Refund Policy

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with BiteBye, you may request a full refund within 30 days of purchase from our support page. No questions asked.

6. Privacy and Data

Your privacy is fundamental to how BiteBye works. The app processes webcam data entirely on your device using a local AI model. No images are captured, stored, or transmitted. Anonymized usage data (session counts, alert statistics) may be used to improve the product but cannot be used to identify you. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

7. Leaderboard

BiteBye includes an optional leaderboard feature. Leaderboard entries display only a user-chosen username and experience points. No personal data is associated with leaderboard entries. You are responsible for the username you choose. We reserve the right to remove usernames that are offensive or inappropriate.

8. Availability and Platforms

BiteBye is available for macOS and Windows. We do not guarantee compatibility with all hardware configurations. A working webcam is required for nail-biting detection features.

9. Limitation of Liability

BiteBye is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the application, including but not limited to habit-related outcomes. BiteBye is not a medical device and should not be used as a substitute for professional medical or psychological advice.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the application constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
